Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has increased the number of vacancies for the posts of Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3. Now there are a total of 14298 vacancies which were earlier 9144. These posts are for 40 categories, while earlier there were 18 categories. The online process for new applications will be started soon at https://www.rrbapply.gov.in/ for 15 days. As per the notification PDF, the RRB CBT exam is scheduled for October/November 2024. RRB Technician Recruitment 2024 – Important Dates
RRB released the notification for Technician Recruitment 2024 on 9 March 2024. Online applications were invited from 9 March to 8 April 2024. Candidates got a chance to modify their application form from 3rd to 6th June 2024. The number of posts was increased to 14298 on 22nd August 2024.
RRB Technician Recruitment- Eligibility
Candidates must fulfill certain eligibility criteria before applying for the RRB Technician post. These eligibility criteria are based on standards such as educational qualification and age limit.
Age Limit
As per the RRB Technician notification, the minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age is different for different posts: The age limit for Technician Grade 1 Signal posts is 18 to 36 years. The age limit for Technician Grade 3 posts is 18 to 33 years.
Positions and Essential Qualifications:
- Technician Grade-I Signal (Open Line): 1092 posts. Qualification: B.Sc./ B.Tech/ Diploma in Physics/ Electronics/ Computer/ IT/ Instrumentation.
- Technician Grade III (Open Line): 8052 posts. Qualification: 10th pass + ITI in relevant field or 12th pass (PCM).
- Technician Grade III (Workshop & PUs): 5154 posts. Qualification: 10th pass + ITI in relevant field or 12th pass (PCM).
RRB Technician Recruitment 2024 – Selection Process
The selection process of RRB Technician Recruitment 2024 will consist of three main stages:
- Written Test (CBT): Computer Based Test.
- Document Verification: Verification of documents of selected candidates.
- Medical Examination: Health check-up and fitness test.

RRB Technician Recruitment Application Fee
Candidates must submit the required application fee as per their category while filling the RRB Technician application form.
